Cookie policy
This site sets no cookies. Here is what that means, and what happens instead.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file that a website asks your browser to store and hand back on later visits, which is how sites recognise a returning visitor, keep you signed in, or follow you between sites for advertising. Because the browser returns it automatically, a cookie can link separate visits to the same person.
This site sets none
Polaris Network sets no cookies of its own, and allows no other company to set cookies through it. There is no analytics cookie, no advertising or retargeting cookie, no conversion or tracking pixel, no social media embed, and no session identifier. Nothing is stored on your device by this site, on your first visit or on any later one.
That is not an omission or an oversight. It is how the site is built: every page is plain HTML with one stylesheet and one short script, all served from this domain, and no page requests anything from any other company's servers. There are no external fonts, no external images, no hosted libraries and no embedded players. The complete script used by this site is readable at /assets/main.js; it shows and hides the navigation menu on small screens and does nothing else.
It follows that there is no cookie banner on this site, and you should not see one. A consent notice here would be asking you to agree to something that is not happening, which would be a false statement rather than a courtesy. If you ever see one on this domain, something is wrong and we would like to be told about it at info@polarisnetwork.online.
No other browser storage either
The site uses no localStorage, no sessionStorage and no IndexedDB. It performs no device or browser fingerprinting, and it does nothing to recognise you between visits. The menu script keeps its state only in the page you are currently looking at, and that state disappears when you close the tab.
What is recorded instead
One thing, and it is not a cookie. The hosting provider that serves this website keeps ordinary web server logs, as every web server does. Each entry records the IP address the request came from, the address of the page requested, the date and time, the status code returned and the user-agent string your browser sends. Those logs exist so the site can be kept running and so abuse can be identified; they are kept for up to 30 days and are not used to profile anyone. The privacy policy sets out the detail, including the cross-border position under Australian Privacy Principle 8.
Because no external host is contacted by any page, no third party learns that you visited this site. That remains true until you follow a link away from it: at that point you are on another organisation's website, and what that organisation stores on your device is governed by its own policies, not by this one. This applies equally to the paid link to the vendor described in the affiliate disclosure and to links to Australian government services.
Managing cookies in your browser anyway
Nothing here needs to be blocked, but your browser's controls apply to every site you visit and are worth knowing. In Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, cookie settings sit under privacy or content settings, where you can block cookies, block third-party cookies specifically, or clear what is already stored. Browsers also offer a private or incognito window that discards storage when it closes. Blocking cookies broadly can prevent other sites from keeping you signed in; it will not affect anything on this site, since there is nothing here to block.
If this ever changes
If Polaris Network ever introduces a cookie, or adds any script or tag that sets one, this page will be rewritten to describe exactly what is set, by whom, for what purpose and for how long, and a working consent mechanism will be in place before the first cookie is set — not added afterwards. The effective date at the top of this page will change on the same day. Until that date changes, the statement on this page is complete: no cookies, no browser storage, no third-party requests.
